Galloup's Silk Kitty

Galloup’s Silk Kitty imitates a wounded baitfish, sculpin, or big swimming meal that looks worth chasing. It has that Kelly Galloup streamer DNA: movement, profile, and enough predator-triggering attitude to make big trout forget they were supposed to be careful.

Fish it when trout are hunting meat: cloudy days, stained water, high flows, low light, deep banks, log jams, undercut edges, boulder seams, and pool tails. It is a strong choice when you want to move bigger fish instead of politely asking small ones to sip.

Use strips, pauses, swings, and sharp direction changes. Let it sink, move it with short aggressive strips, then pause it so the fly looks wounded and vulnerable. Big trout often eat when the fly stalls or drops, because apparently “easy target” is their favorite flavor.
