Redd’s Flies began with a simple obsession: flies, fly shops, and the pursuit of finding the right pattern for the moment. Not long after getting into fly fishing, our founder started tying flies as a college student — at first just to save money. But that quickly turned into something more. Fishing highly pressured water on the Chattahoochee River, he wanted better hooks, better quality, and patterns that showed trout something different.
Like every angler who has stood in the river staring into a fly box searching for the perfect answer, that pursuit became deeply personal. What started at the vise on nights and weekends grew into a true garage-built business focused on producing flies that inspire confidence on the water.
Founded in 2020, Redd’s Flies has grown from a small garage start-up into a fly fishing supplier trusted by more than 10,000 anglers and guides across the United States. That growth has been built one fly, one order, and one relationship at a time — by serving everyday anglers, seasoned guides, and fly shops with patterns they can count on when conditions demand the right choice.
Built on years of experience chasing trout across Southern Appalachian streams, Western freestone and tailwater rivers, and beyond, Redd’s Flies now works through a combination of trusted wholesalers, individual tiers, and a dedicated team of fly tiers to offer high-quality flies and thoughtful patterns designed to give anglers an edge where it matters most.
We also believe the waters that give us so much are worth protecting. Long after the flies are tied and the days on the river are counted, we hope the legacy of Redd’s Flies includes helping leave the earth better than we found it.
