FAQs
What is the orange bead supposed to do?
It adds an egg-like accent to the black leech profile. The name describes that combination of shapes and colors; you do not need to see leeches carrying eggs to give this pattern a try.
How should I retrieve this little leech?
Let it settle, then start with short pulls and pauses. Keep a few casts slow before speeding up. A size 10 offering is easy to rush past a fish, especially when the water is cold.
Can I fish it under an indicator?
Yes. Dead-drift it through a seam or deeper slot as you would a nymph. That is a useful approach when fish are holding in one lane and are not moving far to chase a stripped fly.
When would I pick this instead of the Fire Brownie?
Choose the size 10 leech when you want a compact black streamer with a bright head. The Fire Brownie is the larger, approximately 3-inch articulated baitfish offering. They give you two noticeably different meals to present.
