What does the Atomic Mayfly imitate?

The Atomic Mayfly is a Hare’s Ear-style mayfly nymph with added attractor features. Its buggy natural body can suggest several mayfly nymphs rather than only one exact species.

Why does the Atomic Mayfly have a pink bead?

The pink bead gives trout a bright trigger point that helps the fly stand out in the drift. It adds attraction while the body, legs, and wing case keep the overall pattern rooted in a natural mayfly shape.

When should I fish the Atomic Mayfly?

Fish it when trout are feeding on mayfly nymphs or when you need a general attractor nymph in riffles, runs, seams, and pocket water. The added flash can help in broken, deep, or slightly stained water.

How should I rig the Atomic Mayfly?

Dead-drift it under an indicator, tight-line it near the bottom, or fish it as the dropper below a dry fly. It pairs well with a subtler nymph when you want one fly to attract attention and another to close the deal.

What sizes are available in the Atomic Mayfly?

It is available in sizes 12 and 14. Use size 12 for a larger, more visible meal and size 14 when trout prefer a slightly smaller mayfly profile.
