Euro Worm - Tungsten
Slotted Tungsten Euro Worm Size 14. This pattern puts a modern twist on the top selling Squirmy Worm. Tied on a barbless hook, and with a hot tungsten bead. But this is not the garden variety type worm, but an aquatic worm, which there are many and fish do eat them. If you have never seen an aquatic worm, trying taking a small net into a muddy/sandy portion of a river bed, and you will probably find many!
The Euro Worm is a slim worm style nymph built for subsurface trout fishing when fish are responding to simple, high confidence food cues. Its narrow profile helps it drift cleanly while still giving trout a recognizable worm shape.
This pattern is useful after rain, during higher flows, in stained water, or whenever aquatic worms and dislodged food are likely in the drift. It can also work as an attractor style nymph when trout are feeding deep and need a visible target.
Fish it on a Euro nymphing rig, under an indicator, or as a dropper behind a heavier fly. It is a practical option for deep runs, seams, pocket water, and conditions where natural nymphs are being ignored.
